Gadgets keep getting smaller and smaller, but robots seem to keep getting bigger, and if this $1.4M custom giant robot is any indication of what’s to come, we’re going to need bigger garages. Now you can realize your robot-pilot dreams and climb inside your very own 13-foot tall futuristic mecha and be able to launch water bottles (“Eco-friendly LOHAS Launcher”) or fire an “unruly 6000 BBs per minute”, just by smiling.
Pretty rad, right? And you can have it your way – a customized giant robot:
“We could customize your KURATAS as what you hope; holding a squirt gun as a fire fighter, painting a body camouflage as a ranger in jungle, giving a mop and a cleaner as a home cleaning robot, so it is really up to you.” – KURATAS
And the instructional video is worth a watch, if for no other reason than to learn about the “Smile Shot“:
The KURATAS, from Suidobashi Heavy Industries, can be piloted from the cockpit via Kinect technology, or controlled over a 3G network with a mobile, and is said to be coming sometime in 2012.
